Language trips to America newly defined!
Participant age groups: 13 to 18 years / 15 to 20 years
Welcome!
Welcome! Xplore USA is a little piece of “language immersion heaven”. Our students experience the United States “up close and personal”! We invite you to Asheville, located in the mountains of western North Carolina, where we are truly at home. “We” being the team from Xplore USA: Jens Behrmann, my American wife Bethany, our English tutor, and all the chaperones and host families.
We believe our American home should be a “home away from home” for our exchange students. For this reason we combine the fun and adventure of a language immersion trip with an authentic engagement in the American lifestyle and we dive into the everyday happenings of our beautiful hometown.
Xplore students experience America as an insider; they live with friendly host families or at the beautiful campus of a local private college. They take English classes, enjoy themselves during free time activities and have fun on field trips. The students also give back to the community by participating in small local volunteer projects.
The Xplore USA trips are unique for many reasons, not just because of our 100% English-speaking environment guarantee. All trips are personally arranged by us and not- like so often with other companies- managed as a “subcontractor”!
The choice: host family or college campus
In Summer 2012 we invite international students to get to know the USA in two different ways:
As an exchange student with an American family | 13 to 18 years
| (ASHEVILLE, North Carolina - click here) | ||
| (INVERNESS, Florida - click here) | ||
As a language camp student at a college campus | 15 to 20 years
| (ASHEVILLE, North Carolina - click here) |
The basic principle of the language trips
The most important principle of all trips is the extensive participation and involvement of all members of the American families.
For example, in our host family program, we invite the American siblings to participate and be involved
in the English class. In addition, all activities and excursions are open to them and their friends.
The campus program is not only advertised in Germany and other European countries but also in the US. Furthermore we invite teens from Asheville to be a “Day Camper” in order to experience the camp with the students from abroad.
NOTE: Every trip is per se and/or can also be lengthened to six weeks in combination with other destinations!
Our Facebook page always has the latest information, you read posts from our students from all over the world, write us messages, and view a variety of photos.

"Southern hospitality...
is a phrase used in American English to describe the stereotype of residents of the Southern United States as particularly warm and welcoming to visitors to their homes, or to the South in general." (Wikipedia)
