+++ Picture book Ireland to fall in love with +++ Typical Irish activities such as Gaelic Football and dances +++ Day trip to vibrant Dublin +++ Visit to event farm

NEW THIS YEAR from Xplore: an additional English language camp. The destination is also brand new: Ireland.

Our camp is located in Saint Columba’s College in the southern outskirts of Dublin.  Saint Columba’s College offers everything that a camper’s heart could desire! Tennis, soccer, hockey fields and even a golf course- and that’s only the beginning.

From the many arts and crafts rooms to the large outdoor pool, we offer something fun for everyone. You can practice a variety of sports like hockey, basketball, archery, tennis or golf with our sports trainer. Furthermore, you can test out traditional Irish sports such as Gaelic football, rugby, cricket or hurling.  St. Columba’s College is a captivating mix of medieval design ("Harry Potter style") and modern interior and décor.

Programmme

Through our extensive sports and creative programmes that include classic sports as well as “Irish” like rugby and hurling, campers and counselors alike will have a fantastic time together. The boarding school is located directly on the edge of beautiful forests and rolling green hills- very typical for Ireland- which we will explore together.

Due to the nearby location of the college to Dublin, we will have a day trip to the city to shop or do a sightseeing tour through the beautiful, youthful and modern downtown.

"Be Irish For A Day"

An additional excursion takes us to the Murtaugh family and their educational farm, Causey (www.causey.ie). There we will have a chance to be Irish for a day. At Causey Farm, you will be offered a chance to participate in a traditional programme so that you will gain insight into life on the green island. You’ll learn some Gaelic, milk a cow, and help the cattle dog lead the sheep into the right direction. You’ll also learn traditional Irish dances like "The Siege of Ennis" and bake your own "brown bread" that you get to enjoy afterwards hot out of the oven with butter and marmalade.  Delicious!

Our English programme will, of course, always be taught by a qualified native speaker that will familiarize you hands-on with the English language.
